Sue Mackulin has lived in Jefferson Hills over fifty years, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School. Next she graduated from Edinboro University with a BS in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and a minor in Social Studies and from University of California with a MS as a Reading Specialist, Special Education, and Reading Supervision. She has also attended University of Pittsburgh to get a doctoral equivalency in Curriculum and Instruction. Passing the praxis test, she is able to teach mathematics through the tenth grade curriculum. Sue worked for West Jefferson Hills School District for over thirty years as a teacher in a wide variety of teaching assignments. She is filled with pride and admiration about her local community.
Sue Mackulin serves as the vice president on the Economic Development Committee in Jefferson Hills. She is appointed to the Citizens Advisory Panel for Eastman Chemical and GeoOn Power, and is a member of the West Jefferson Hills Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the Pennsylvania Council of History Educators as vice president and is president of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary educational society. With a passion for history she is member of the West Jefferson Hills Historical Society. Sue is also a member of St. Isaac Jogues Church where she is a past CCD teacher and attends Bible study discussion meetings. She is the coach of the Thomas Jefferson High School Mock Trial Team.
Sue has raised her family in Jefferson Hills. Her daughter, Krisha is a local attorney, who attended Duquesne University and Cooley Law School. Her son, George, is an army veteran on a military scholarship at Duquesne University as a biochemical major.
Her father, Bob, a lifelong resident of Jefferson Hills, lives nearby and is very close to her and her children.
